Whiskey Covenant

Mick Daugherty has survived war, battles with strikebreakers, street fights and law enforcement always one step behind. But when he makes a dangerous deal with a man whose ambition is to become Indianapolis bishop, Vicar General Karl Schneider, he sets the stage for betrayals and dark gambits.

It’s 1926 and Mick has made a comfortable living for himself. The whiskey he bootlegs is the best around and his clandestine operations The Flying Dutchman and the Claddagh have a solid reputation among those who just want to knock back an illegal drink and have a good time. He’s bought a house in Irvington for Lilly where they can raise Sean Michael and another one on the way.

But underneath the fine house and the life he’s provided for Lilly, Indianapolis rots from internal corruption. Mayor Duvall, placed in office by Klan malfeasance and running schemes of his own by backing the notoriously corrupt gamblers, Bill and Harry Whitcomb.  As Mick and his brother Seamus and cousin Eamon plan a risky gunrunning venture from Canada, Mick has to balance his personal ambitions with family betrayal and a mayor who wants him taken out , soon proving he will stop at little to do so.

As Mick begins unravelling schemes connected to Duvall and the corrupt elections, he begins uncovering a darker secret yet, one that leads him straight to the Vicar General.

If Mick is going to uncover the men who barter in human lives, he is going to have to face his own past and secrets he wants to remain buried. And secrets are falling thick and fast. Sooner or later, Lilly will have to know.

When Mick’ past begins catching up with him, the Vicar General demands a covenant to silence him, and  he must decide what kind of man he’s become. One who trades in violence—or one who walks away with the truth still burning in his hands.

Whiskey Covenant is a story of blood, betrayal, and the cost of secrets in a world where silence is currency and whiskey is contraband, and love becomes the most dangerous truth of all.
